My Robot
2. My robot
It was the first time Art2 had said something like that. It was always me who had asked to have a word with him. I must admit, I wasn’t quite happy about the situation. We sat down on the couch, and he looked me in the eyes again. Then he started talking. He talked for a long time about how he felt he needed something new and exciting in his life of a robot. He wanted to try something new. He said that he had bigger ambitions than helping me. Art2 had watched a lot of TV lately and especially the news. He had always been very interested in politics, and he was very proud of the current government. He was a big fan of President Obama as well. Then he suddenly said that he wanted to be a politician, and he wanted me to assist him. I had to make him repeat it, just to be sure about what he had just said. I knew that cats had been politicians before, but Art2 was a robot.
He wanted me to talk to a lot of people who could get him in politics. Most important for him was, that he wanted to be a in the Democratic Party, because he had the same key issues as the Democrats, with just few differences. First off I had to go and talk to a man in the city hall and ask him for advice. The man did not take me serious enough, so the next day I brought Art2 with me. We all talked for quite some time, and in the end he decided to help us. He called the news stations and told about Art2, and soon we had a lot of appointments and meetings, that we had to go to. The story about a robot in politics was spreading fast, and soon I was a well-known face in town too.
There were a lot of things that I had to take care of, and I was beginning to feel a little stressed. Also, I had to do everything myself at home because Art2 felt too important to help. He meant that as a politician, he should not be cleaning or helping out in his own home. So every day of the week was filled with things for me to do. I had two jobs and a home to take care of, and it was difficult to make time

The game reflected the actual political process because it provided a stimulation of the choices politicians have to make in order to have and maintain a successful campaign. The fact that the game only provided 4 options/moves for each round was very unrealistic. A campaign entails much more than just 4 consistent activities. The game expanded my knowledge of elections that I gathered from the book and this week’s learnsmart by providing a visual explanation of how elections…

“Good afternoon Agents North Dakota and New York, how can I be of assistance?” The green AI asked, waiting patiently. “Hey Delta, we were wondering if you would like to get to know North’s AI Theta.” York asked the AI. “I would love to Agent York, but if I do remember correctly it is against the rules for AI to converse with each other directly.” The green AI stated, “Oh come on Delta! Everyone knows all those rules The Director enforces about AI are pointless, just talk to him.” York told the AI. “Very well” The green AI walked over to Theta. “Hello Theta, I am Delta.” Delta said with an outstretched hand. Theta peeked from behind North and looked at Delta and cautiously took a step out from behind North, “H-hello Delta” Theta shook Delta’s hand. “See, they’re getting along fine.” York…

After mentioning some mistakes not to do, Plunkitt wants to suggest some tips on what to do based on what he did to succeed in politics as he did. As Plunkitt states, “What I did was to get some marketable goods before going to the leaders.” He approached his cousin who had no interest in politics and told him that he was going to be a politician and wanted to get a following, he asked his cousin if he would and his cousin agree. Then he approached the district leader and told him that he had two votes, his cousins and his own. The district leader told him to go ahead. Civic duty never meant much to me until I involved myself in the Ro Khanna for Congress Campaign. It began with a 6 hour shift to run a booth and ended with a celebration two weeks ago for Ro’s success in winning the congressional election. I have made phone calls and knocked on people’s doors to talk about why they should vote for Ro. As my volunteer activity increased, I became my high school’s team leader for the election. My responsibilities included gathering more volunteers, contacting old ones, discussing with community members, and finding methods to increase voter turnout. As I spread awareness throughout Santa Clara about Ro, I realized how influential and beneficial he will be for those in our community. I wanted to see change and our current congressman wasn’t providing that.…

Hot electrical wires under a cold, metal shell versus blood- flowing veins beneath a warm, furry skin. Robotic pets are replacing true, loving emotions with computer programmed actions. Robots make human lives easier, like what could happen in a science fiction movie. Just following three simple steps on the instruction manual could change lives dramatically. For example, humans are gradually moving towards social isolation, lack of responsibility, and loneliness. Robotic machines have many negative outcomes. Therefore, they should not get to replace the relationship between humans and their pets.…

The last one who answered me was a small, six-year-old boy who was surprisingly confident in his response. I smiled and told him that he could be whatever he wanted. But then I immediately thought: what if I’m filling him with false hopes? After all, it’s not very probable that he actually would become the president. Reflecting on that moment, I wonder why I was so quick to think that my cousin, with…
