My Teaching Practice Case Study
My Teaching practices
Since I was a little child I have wanted to be a teacher, then through the years I discovered that I wanted to be an English teacher. So, I have started to study at IPES in 2011. Now I have the opportunity to express and write my own experiences as an English trainer teacher at IPESCO. It has been four years since I have started this teaching training course and this was a pleasing experience for me. I always have dreamed of being a professor, and in my classes I have felt my little improvements.
I did my first teaching practice in 2013 when I was in second year; I worked with one of my classmates Cecilia. We practiced in pairs. Our teaching practice was supposed to be in a kindergarten school, but my teacher had some

I did my training in a private Evangelist school, where my partner Cecilia taught, so it was a kind of advantage to work with her group. We had only eight students: five girls and three boys. I must admit that with this group I spent three wonderful weeks. Children were so innocent and lovely. They participated in each class with a positive attitude and I could see their interest in the topics we were teaching to them. Although, we had in my own opinion a good experience, I cannot deny that some mistakes were made during this period. For instance, I made pronunciation mistakes and I realized that these mistakes were important due to the fact that we were students’ language references, so we needed to be aware of this. Of course I just needed to look for them in the pronunciation dictionary. Another disadvantage for me was when in a class one of the students did not want to participate in an activity; I was speechless, even though I had taught in primary for many years. Fortunately, Ceci knew how to manage this boy, so that later on she explained to me why he did not work that day. Despite all this, I really enjoyed this …show more content…
This time was different, firstly because Cecilia my partner was not attending to the teaching course with me, and this new situation made me feel a little incomplete and scared, but I had a new good classmate Maria Jose. I can say that the practices were good. Moreover, Mj is a great partner and she had the creative part in our pair. The first day we went to observed the group, I have to admit that I felt scared because the group was very noisy, also I had the feeling that the teacher cannot controlled them, but I was wrong. After we finished our first observation class M.J and I discussed about it. Even though, we had different point of views, this made me feel a little more relaxed. During the first week of observation we had the possibility to chat with the students and asked them about what they knew about English, and for my surprise almost all of them knew the language, I need to mention that there were some advanced students, and these students helped their classmates. This group in my opinion was not just classmates, they were very friendly with each other, and this reassured me that it was a very good group. However, we had certain difficulties to explain one topic. We had to use our mother tongue in order for them to understand what we wanted the class to know, this moment put me a little gloomy because I could see in their faces that they did not understand, even though I thought I

Our last observation this semester was with Rachel Pollard at Hartwood Elementary School. This school includes grades K-5. Mrs. Pollard is in a very unique situation, because she sees each of her classes for forty minutes twice a week. Since she has twice as much time with her students as compared to most other music teachers, her students are able to advance quickly with their musical skills. This benefit was very obvious through my observations. Mrs. Pollard’s lessons were well thought-out and she had clear objectives in mind for each activity. Everything she did served a purpose, including singing a song to move the students into a new seating arrangement and her “point checks” at the beginning of class.…

I decided to explore these opportunities as they provided an opportunity to work with children as I have an interest in becoming a teacher. My identified work opportunities will enhance the flourishing of myself as it will teach me to be more patient, communicate better, develop leadership skills and provide me with the chance to learn how to deal with different types of people. Moreover, these work opportunities provides a chance for me to improve public speaking which I struggle with, allow me to create networking, and gain teaching abilities. The gap in these work experiences are that although it provides me with an opportunity to work with children however, it includes working in small groups rather than an entire class of 25-35 students. A method to fill this gap can be that to work as a teacher assistant so it gives a preview of what the environment of teaching several students with one person, the teacher is charge is like.…

As I entered first grade in Religious Education, the smile on her face told me that this was going to be fun and exciting. The teacher seemed happy and comfortable to have me as her student. The first day of school began and ended with a treat she brought for us. Since the start, I knew that I would get along with her just fine…

The first approach that I noticed in the lessons was that the teacher was always present before the class and that the pupils waited outside until invited in by the teacher. Also, the teacher did not start the lesson until all the pupils were quiet. I thought that these were very good techniques as it establishes a sensible tone conducive to learning at the start of the lesson. Something I think would be difficult to establish at any other point.…

I have always known that I wanted to become a teacher because many of my family members were teachers and ever since I can remember I was always the teacher when my siblings and I played school at the kitchen table. I have always had a passion to teach children and watch them gain knowledge and grow even when I was young. I went to a one room school house when I was in elementary and I was always willing to help the teacher with whatever she needed. Ever since then that is how I have always been. I love getting up in front of students and seeing their bright young faces and teaching them a lesson and answering their questions. It is a passion that I have always had.…

This was my first field experience at Marian, and I am proud of accomplishing this small milestone and learning more about myself and the field of education. This involvement opened my eyes to a variant of culture, teaching styles, and personal and professional growth. Prior to jumping into my assigned field experience, I constructed two goals in relation to my experience. In this paper I will focus on how I achieved these goals and I will reflect on my field experience as a whole.…
