My Three Favourite Holidays

The due date: May 13, 2011 My Favorite Three Holidays Holidays are decorations of people’s daily life. There are many kinds of holidays, which vary from ancient times to modern society and from the east to the west. Different holidays have different meanings and benefits and are liked by different people. For me, my favourite three holidays are the Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and Dragon Boat Festival because of the time with family, the food and the atmosphere. The Spring Festival is my favorite holiday. The first reason is that there is a long winter vacation which lasts for more than a month at this time. It enables me to stay with my parents and have a good rest at home. Another reason is the scrumptious food we eat during the Spring Festival. My mother usually makes dumplings and cooks fish for us. Besides I like the lively atmosphere during the Spring Festival when families get together watching TV and setting off firecrackers. It is festive and exciting. Another holiday I like very much is the Mid-Autumn Day. I like it because it is a holiday when all family members get together and enjoys each other’s company. Another reason I like this holiday is that I can eat the delicious mooncakes on this holiday. There are many flavors of the mooncakes and they all taste very nice. Lastly, I like the harmonious atmosphere on that night when we watch the bright full moon together and tell the story of Change, a beautiful lady who lives on the moon in ancient Chinese tales. The Dragon Boat Festival is also a holiday I like a lot. People usually have a three days’ holiday during this Chinese traditional festival therefore it gives me a chance to go home and enjoy the time staying with my parents. Secondly, I like the tasty food during this holiday. It is called Zongzi. It is a kind of food made of rice and with some palm leaves covered on it. What is more, this holiday has unique atmosphere.
