The Crucible Soundtrack:
Innocent: Taylor Swift, This song would be included in the Crucible soundtrack because it’s a song that inspires someone who did something they regret. In the Crucible, this song could be sung to John by Abigail. During the book, you see Elizabeth transform into loving and supporting wife, despite John’s mistake. This song would be played at the end to make sure John knew Elizabeth forgave him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJoA4dGbGqs Haunted: Taylor Swift. This songs belongs on the Crucible soundtrack because the artist is saying how she can’t get over her past relationship, just like Abby can’t get over John. This song could be played to show Abby’s desperation. It would be good to play after John rejects her in the beginning of the play. The title would also foreshadow the trials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHvys3BJmko Red: Taylor Swift, This song belongs on the Crucible soundtrack because the artist is like Abby. She claims she is unable to forget about John. This would be a good song to play before Abby goes to John in the beginning of the play. It would show her motive for initiating the trials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lFSClNvnRM Just Give Me a Reason: Pink, This song belongs on the album, and should be played during the middle of the movie. The portion that Pink sings represents Elizabeth trying to mend the broken marriage with John. The guy (John) is also trying to mend the broken relationship, but is confused about the woman’s (Elizabeth’s) suspicions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgEFfZOV9GQ My Heart Will Go On: Celine Dion, This song should be played at the very end of the movie. Since the Crucible ends with John dying, this song shows Elizabeth and John having to say goodbye for the last time. Celine Dion would represent Elizabeth moving forward with her life, but always keeping John in her heart and memories.

The Crucible was a play written by Arthur Miller, that was later made into a film directed by Nicholas Hytner. Both the play and the film have the same story and are very similar, yet they have some minor differences. I am comparing the scene where John and Abby meet in the woods before she has the pin inside her and the scene where Elizabeth and John meet near the ending. The theme when John and Abby meet in woods would be “Good vs. Evil”. The theme for when Elizabeth and John meetup would be “Compassion and Forgiveness”. The theme “Good vs. Evil” relates to John and Abby meeting in the woods because Abby shows a lot of her evil side to John that he didn’t know about. The theme “Compassion and Forgiveness” relates to Elizabeth and John meeting…

The Crucible was a very well written play, and gave many themes throughout its entirety. A huge theme was Integrity and Courage. People needed integrity and courage to make it through with their goodness back in the times of witch trials, and people still need it today just so their goodness survives. Many people showed their integrity and courage, but some stood above the rest. Giles Corey died a free man, John Hale stood up to the courts corruption, and then ended up leaving, Rebecca Nurse did not confess, and John Procter died with his name and goodness.…

It also is a container used in the process of heating and melting metals to separate the valuable metals from the not so valuable.
