In addition, I have recently seen some new and already existing goods about my writing. Firstly, some already existing goods would relate to organization and spelling. With the exception for a word or two, spelling and organization has always been a strong trait of mine. Secondly, with recently completing an activity that was dispersed throughout class, I have seen that I am fairly decent at correcting citations. With that said, I am also fairly decent at detecting plagiarism. Lastly, creating a thesis statement also falls into my goods in writing. Although I'm not the best, developing a thesis can and usually comes easy for me. …show more content…
Furthermore, the bad that I create throughout my paper is a lot more transparent.
From the first paper that I wrote, some errors still hold true about my writing. My punctuation still is not at the level that I would like it to be. Though I feel some improvements have been made, I continue to misplace commas leading to fragments and comma splices. Secondly, correctly choosing word choices still plays a role in my writing as well. I continuously use poor judgement in words such as thing, you, gotten, that’s, I'm, and but. Lastly, Just like the paper before this one, thinking about how to start the essay. However, with lately improving, started a paper and thinking about what to say still is a
struggle. Therefore, taking my second semester at college has shown me many ways of fixing the traits listed above. The most important being, attend school every single day. Everyone hears it throughout their life, but its so very important that even a single piece of material can make a difference. Another great way is just simply studying over and reading the comments left on my graded papers I turn in. They show what I struggle with, what I don’t struggle with, and just gives good constructive criticism to overlook. Lastly, use more of my surrounding tools for helping improve the paper. The writing center, paperrater, peers, and past handouts all can be very useful for raising a letter grade from a B to an A.
In Conclusion, every writer has the ability to find his or her strengths and weaknesses. The importance though is to be able to take those strengths and develop them into a paper or take those weaknesses and turning them into a strength. Throughout my years of writing, I have improved far more then what I ever thought. I went from having trouble writing two paragraph papers, to now properly developing two and four page essays. With on my way to completing my second semester in college, I will continue to develop my writing skills. With also developing my learning skills and hopefully take my writing to the next level, properly developing six and eight page essays.
