I find this technique useful because it allows me to see the grammatical and structural problems I am having at that current time. This helps me look for the problems and fix them before they happen as I write more and more of the paper. By the time I reach the end of the paper, I have a strong grip on the problems I have encountered and they do not even happen. This technique I employ also helps because I am editing the information while that specific idea is still at the front of my mind. This is a step that I try to limit to just grammar and do not allow the reader to restructure my paper. The most I will ever change based off the advice of a colleague is restructuring a sentence. Many times, people will workshop my paper and rewrite it and then the paper becomes a mix of my own thoughts and their own. When someone workshops my paper, I make sure I see everything they change so that I can go back and approve their changes while making sure my own voice and ideas remain intact. Of all the steps stated above, aside from the actual step of writing the paper, the most important step is comparing and grading the paper based off of the rubric because that is what the final grade is based on. This is a step that I put heavy emphasis on because it helps me confirm that I have met all the goals of the assignment and will not lose points for simple, easily resolved changes to the paper. If a rubric is given prior to the due date and I was to ignore it, I might as well shoot myself in the foot because the teacher is showing what she is looking for and
