My Writing Struggles Essay

The Struggles with Writing

Everyone has had to deal with troubles in a class that they might have had a hard time in it and just not understanding the content.Math, Chemistry, and English could all be the areas that student’s have troubles with. Being said I am one of those students that has to overcome that subject and get past that point. Writing has been one of my weak points in academics and I have slowly improved my writing. The past four years in high school have caused me trouble writing because I haven’t really written in an academic style. A lot of repetition, grammar errors, and not being able to get the main point across the reader. It’s not easy being to change the writing style you're used to overnight and think that it changed. The only thing that will continue to improve my writing and make it more an academic writing style is writing itself and seeing the places where I can improve in.

Throughout high school writing has always been challenging to me and when being told that a paper was going to be due, made me want to barry myself in a whole and not come out. With little effort I would give the essay a shot and follow the directions and think that it was an ok paper and it could get me a passing grade. Seeing the score and it being not being
acceptable told me that I was doing something wrong. Reading back through it and seeing that there were grammar errors and parts where it was the same wording gave me a hint that this was an area where I needed work on. I didn't have a good vocabulary and the wording in my essays could use some improvement. Another area that my writing struggles with was the repetitive sentences and saying the same idea twice. This was not good writing and it sure isn’t good academic writing which will soon be a must and this old form of writing will need to change.

You think that it’s easy to get the point across to the reader but it can be more complex than you might think.
It was difficult for me to get my point across and make it easy for the reader to know what the topic was and what is the purpose of the writing. I look back and see that I didn’t go into detail and didn’t go far in depth about the topic. I just gave a brief summary about the topic and didn’t give much detail and explanations. There’s more than just putting half the effort and not really caring about the writing, rather than going into detail and making sure that at the end of the paper the reader knowing what the purpose was and having enough information to get the main point
across.

Writing has always been an area in which I have struggled with and been trying to improve in. I know that it will slowly come to me and that I will be able to become a better writer and write in an academic language and not the high school way of writing I am used to. Writing seems to be the obstacle that I have yet overcome and know that it possible to improve in. Effort and looking over the writings that I previously done will better my writing and make it the writing that it needs to be at.
