Mystic River Directed By Clint Eastwood

Directed by Clint Eastwood in 2003, “Mystic River” is a about a mystery crime shrouded in confusion and lies that is linked to the events of the past. The film involves three friends in the city of Boston that are forever connected when one of them is tricked and captured by child molestors; to the present date, their lives can be best described as restless and unsettled that goes into turmoil with the following of the murder. Accredited as one of Eastwood’s most memorable films, the film uses a perfectly group of actors who are able to perform the best emotion in the story, the emotions and feelings throughout the film is very deep and shows the honest pain of their characters.

The film begins with Jimmy’s daughter, Katie, his eldest daughter and someone loved by all friends and family. Katie in the beginning of the film meets with a boy, Brendan, and plans to run away with him in the upcoming days, but that plan runs to a halt with the discovery of her gruesome murder. Assigned to the case is detective Sean and his partner Whitney. The first suspect is the lover Brendan, but so is Dave when he comes back late the night Katie is murdered covered in blood. The movie’s plot is extraordinary as it is about pain and regret that has grown over the years, and hidden secrets and unvoiced suspicions. The story does an amazing job coming to a conclusion, the journey and the experience the actors travel through these scenes test their limits. Dave's wife has a mental dilemma as she doesn’t know what to believe at the end of the night, which in turn leads to her husband's death. She is unable to tell what her husband is thinking and is afraid of what he did or didn’t do. Additionally, the tension between Whitney and Dave, as he suspects that Dave commited the crime, as his trauma from a young age might have had a play in what drove him to murder.
