The country is filled with people who can speak both English/France but still has restrictions as people are only allowed to work 35 hours a week. Still, the country is democratic with people being able to vote. People have options for overtime work and the country’s health care system is one of the best in the world. Equality between men/women in now taken very seriously in France compared to WW1 as women can apply for any job are not restricted to their husband’s permission and can go on into studying any profession. The fundamental rights of the individual are protected and the law protects people from abuse. Even so, not all are free of this abuse as Muslims are still are still under human right abuses such as violent house arrests/raids and religious sanctions. If France wants to be a true multicultural society, it should not discriminate against Muslims/others who they deem suspicious through violent means but rather through peaceful negotiations. In fact, that should be stated more so in current times as France has been wanting to make emergency state laws into permanent ones. What this means is that since France has been under emergency state law after the 2015 Paris bombings, it has as said before under suppressing terrorist activity, attacked Muslim grounds and abused human rights. However, these new laws if made permanent, can suspect just anyone as a terrorist, forefront Muslims, and can risk harming the rights to liberty, security and freedom of religion that the country has in its
