Within the last century, the name of Narcissus become related with psychopathology, but its modern usage began as a clinical construct, today the term Narcissism links to clinical theory. Narcissism is a pattern of attributes and behaviours which indicate an inflated sense of self, an obsession with one's self to the exclusion of all others a sense of entitlement. Observing traits such self-centeredness and self-preoccupation, the word narcissism is used sometimes as a pejorative term for something that belongs to, other people, but another common trait is an underdeveloped ability to love oneself the absence of self-esteem, an alternative type of narcissistic wound.
