We usually start with our afternoon lunch while we catch up with everything new our family endured since the previous year. After a few traditional games of a relay races and volleyball games. It was already dinner time and the delicious smoked brisket and baked beans were ready. After we all indulged my uncle began to discuss the plan for the the night. First he had an industrial firework display for us. Then after the 30 minute show we can proceed with our personal fireworks. He explained that we all need to light our fireworks in

My uncle announces that the display about to begin. There is about 25 artillery shells in a big crate with lots of wires that are connected to a remote that accesses them. As soon as he starts with the first artillery shell the wires all began to spark. Instead of each one going at a timed rate they all began shooting one after another with only seconds in between. Everyone ran in fear as soon and they began to notice things were not going as planned. Then, a tree caught on fire and a field of dry grass it was now a roaring fire. After twenty minutes of burning acres the firefighter showed up and began to battle the fire. All of my family was extremely worried and the men with the fire extinguishers couldn’t help out too much. After the firefighters were finally able to get the fire taken care of an hour had passed by and no one wanted to proceed with their own fireworks. We just all sat around and stared at all the smoke thankful that no one got

Sadie Nussbaum, an eighteen-year-old Jewish girl who had lived in the United States of America her entire life along with 148 of her fellow workers, was killed in the fire in the Triangle Shirt Factory(Nussbaum death certificate). Ever since, historians and advocates have asked the question, “Who should be held responsible for their deaths?” After looking at many sources it seems that the owners of the building, Blanck and Harris, were ultimately responsible for the fire. This is because they failed to keep the building properly inspected, had terrible working conditions and over crowding, and only had one exit door.…

The tragedy of the triangle shirtwaist factory fire sparked the uprising in the fight for better shape of the working environment when 145 of the innocent were killed. It was that it began in a small rag bin, a simple target for a fire in a building with locked fire escape routes, unoperational elevators, and no ventilation, that initiated the fight for worker safety. Although most hand-made garment businesses have been made irrelevant in the U.S. due to industrialization and mass production today, the tragedy of the Triangle Waist Factory fire should be included in next year’s edition of textbooks because it sparked a revolution for labor unions that succeeded in the fight for better working conditions.…

The title of the documentary I watched is “Triangle Fire” it was made February 28, 2011 about the massive Triangle Shirtwaist Fire of 1911 that killed 146 people. The thesis of this film is mainly taking a look into the working lives of immigrants in the early 1900’s. The filmmaker’s agenda was apparent in this film and it was to expose the working conditions, and lives of these workers at the time to ensure the viewer would know the corruption that was at hand with the private industry of American factories. This film wanted to convey the message that the working conditions in factories in these times were unacceptable and they led to the biggest work related tragedy in that city to date. This film is accurate because it covers all the historical evidence that’s needed to show its viewers what the working condition were that…

It was a boring summer day. My cousin Henry, Jake, and myself decided to go shoot BB guns at the old Nike site, which was now a park. We climbed up to the top of the abandoned radar tower with our BB guns and pretending to be sharp shooters, we shot the BB guns at three cans we lined up on the ground. Some kids from the neighborhood adjacent to ours came to the same park with fireworks. We climbed down to meet them. They shared their fireworks with us and we shared our BB guns with them. We were having a blast throwing the bottle rockets and fire crackers off the tower. We giggled at the pop which echoed around the park. The neighbors, whose houses backed up to the park, did not enjoy our early fourth of July show. A few minutes later we saw…

“The trouble is you think you have time” (Buddha). Time is something we take for granted; we always say witty quotes thinking it will prepare us for when time runs out although nothing can prepare us for sudden death. For as long as I can remember I had been around pure genuine love, one couples love story had a great impact on me. My oldest cousin Dustin fell in love at the young age of seven years old, he fell for a beautiful soul named Lindsey. I admired her personality and after years went on I became very close to Lindsey; we were like sisters. On July 18, 2012, my families lives changed forever and so did mine, Lindsey’s father Ricky murdered Lindsey and her mother Darlene. I still remember the day as If it is replaying in the back of my head. There’s often moments where certain smells or sights take me back to this day, it is a hard one to forget.…
