Narrative Essay About Flight 93
Bam! Crash! Boom! I remember hearing those sounds on September 11, 2001 when I was aboard United Flight 93. That day has impacted the rest of my life and the way I live now. I can recall those events like it was yesterday. I woke up tired on a beautiful, sunny, Tuesday morning. It was the day I had to fly to San Francisco for my job on a cruise ship. I had been in between cruises, so I had taken the chance to come see my parents in Newark, New Jersey. Later I realized that it could have cost me dearly. I changed into my pressed, white, long sleeved shirt with khaki pants and my sailors hat that I had to wear for my job as a deckhand. I arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport a hour before my flight, where I hug my parents goodbye. I walk in and go through security easily and go to my gate and wait for thirty minutes until we would be able to board. The thirty minutes felt like a day waiting to board the plane. As they called my name to board I grab my boarding passes for United Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco. After scanning my boarding passes, I drag my suitcase down to the plane in which I take my seat towards the back of the plane. Finally, at 8:42 in the morning, we take off towards San Francisco. …show more content…
Because I was at the back, I couldn't tell what was going on in the first class section. Three people with red bandannas entered the cockpit. The had left one person outside of the cockpit who was holding something in his hand. After a minute or so, they came back out of the cockpit dragging two bodies behind them. They went back in the cockpit and within a minute we were told from the new pilot that they had a bomb on board. They allowed us to make phone calls. I was the first one to be able to make a call. My parents didn't pick up the phone, so I left a message telling them that my plane had been hijacked. After I left a message, I sat down in my seat and let others

It was unusually cold on this morning of September 11th, 2001, and my alarm had just went off. The odd but needed 5 am. was when I woke up, because my flight was going to leave around 8:30 and I needed to be there on time. The reason I was flying to San Francisco was I was having a family reunion with my dad, my step-mom, and my step-brothers. So, I jumped in the shower quickly with joy and excitement. I hadn't seen my family in forever since I had gotten a job as the assistant of the manager in Ralph Lauren Headquarters. I had just gotten my hair dried as I heard my phone ring. It was dad, making sure that I was on my way. I talked to him for a few minutes and then hung up. I glanced at the clock and realized…

On June 12, 2006, I was ready to board my flight at San Diego International airport, when I was given a once in a lifetime experience. As I began to board, the captain and first officer were greeting the passengers ahead of me. The line was moving very slowly; however, I eventually made it to the front. The captain and I began talking when all of a sudden he asked a very typical question, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” I responded, “I want to be a pilot” and for no apparent reason offered to take me into the cockpit. Inside the cockpit, the captain continued to talk about the plane while pointing to instruments such as altimeter and vertical speed indicator, when I suddenly asked him, “How did he become a pilot?” He responded by saying,…

I am inexplicably and uncontrollably weeping. When I finally got to my gate, I looked at the screen showing the waitlist and realized I couldn’t read the numbers. I noticed something was wrong with my head. My mom asked me why I didn't get myself checked out. I wasn’t feeling well, so I returned to my sister's apartment. I went back to the airport the next morning—or maybe the next?—and sat on the waitlist with hundreds of other people. I still remember when they announced they had scheduled a special plane that was normally used for transatlantic flights to take us all home to New York. I don't think I've ever been happier. Everyone on that plane was so full of joy—it was actually an incredibly fun ride. Anyway, I got home, after four days of…

My adventure starts as I get on the Canada Line that glides on a rail to help my sweet escape from all kinds of troubles and concerns. Window sills of Canada Line frames around beautiful spring, entertaining my eyes with shifting scenes of blooming cherry blossoms and a milky way on a river that is created by opulent sunshine. After twenty or thirty minutes, when a familiar voice of announcement tells me the train is at the terminal station, I walk to the door with my fluttering heart. As soon as I get off the Canada Line, a light breeze gently blows my hair, letting me know that I am finally here at the airport; a place where I can forget about everything and just be myself.…

I was so excited to go home after my three month stay in Chile. It wasn’t that I had a bad time rather that I was home sick. I left my uncles house at six am to depart for the airport. Everything was normal; the sun was bright, with no clouds beneath it. I remember the roads in Chile. They were very bumpy, and unpaved. As we neared the airport, I looked back at all of my memories I had while in the lovely country. Time went by so fast during my stay. I entered the airport and went through customs pretty quickly. I sat down in my terminal and waited for my number to be called. “Sección de un informe a la terminal número 11”, an airport attendant yelled into her microphone. I knew that was my call to board the plane. I walked through the gate and sat down in my seat. An overweight gentleman named Frank sat next to me. He was pretty quiet, but he told me that he was ready to get back to his home in New York. I plugged my Ipod in and placed a pair of earphones over my head.…
