Sunshine State A five day vacation in the Sunshine state that would create some of my best and most interesting memories. The 5 days of complaining about how it was hot outside, turing into a lobster, and hanging out with my cousin. It was an agreement with my cousins parent that she would live in south Dakota and fly to florida every other summer. The summers my cousin wouldn't fly down my uncle would come and visit in south Dakota. The night before we left for florida my cousin came and stayed at my house. We all packed excited for the adventures were about to have in the coming days. We got up early and left for the airport. The empty lines made us get through air port security in no time at all. It was time to just wait a good hour for a the air plane to take us to florida. When the plane arrived the fights were to begin on who gets the window seat and who didn’t. It was a strait flight to florida so in not time we arrived and were ready to have fun. Walking out of the air plane I immediately noticed the difference in the climate. It was so much more warmer than anywhere I had ever been. We pulled our luggage behind us and we walked up

We rented a car that day and drove three hours early in the morning to go to orlando. The plan was to go to universal studios. After we finally got there and paid to get in walking in felt amazing. It was a long walk just to get to all the entertainment. You could walk in circles around the whole place and be totally lose but still having fun. My favorite part of that day was the harry potter ride. They strapped you in to a seat with your feet dangling. Zooming through the ride as Harry Potter talked to you. The motion sickness started to come on in the middle of the ride but i didn't care. Then when we were face to face with a dragon, the riders got a blast of steam. The ride home everyone

Despite the several hurricanes that have occurred in Florida the past couple years, I think it's safe to say that Florida can also be a pleasant place to live. With its mostly sunny weather, friendly disposition, and many exciting attractions, Florida almost doesn't seem like the type of place to have such horrific weather at times. I, personally, even after knowing so many good qualities about the sunshine state, still am not convinced that Florida would be a nice place to live.…

I have lived all my life in sunny Florida. I have always been a little different. While most of my friends were playing basketball or baseball I was tinkering with electronics and repairing or improving any item that came my way. I learned a lot from my older brother, who taught me everything I know about computers and technology. When I was a sophomore in high school, my brother and I worked together to build my own gaming computer. I have had a passion to learn as much as I can, so that I can be the best that I can possibly be. I was bullied as a child for being different, but I knew that if I pushed on, I could achieve my…

When I walked in the doors of our house, I looked to the left where our couch was and saw my parents sitting facing towards me with nervous faces. I set my bag on the ground next to the door, and I set my shoes next to my bag. I slowly turned around and walked towards the couch, hesitant to take a step forward. Part of me considered bolting--running for the door. Their faces were plastered with anxiety, and I tried to think of what I had done. Nothing clear came to mind. Once I finally sat down, I looked at my parents and said, “What's wrong?”…

Whilst looking through my collection of photographs I discover a bundle labelled “Orlando, Florida 2005”. Just then a lot of very happy memories came flooding back, these pictures seem like they where only taken yesterday. Yet they where taken 12 years ago, my last family holiday. I can remember every detail about this particular holiday, obviously it had such a huge impact on me. I recall visiting Disneyland and meeting all the Disney princesses I was so gobsmacked. It was all a 5 year old little girl could dream of! I would clutch my big sisters hand and jump up and down with excitement. One of my fondest memories was doing the princess tour, my sister was 12 and she just did anything to make her little sister happy so obviously she joined…

It was a surprisingly warm night during the summer. Everyone in the house was sound asleep in their rooms except for me. I was watching a show on the laptop in my room when out of nowhere I hear a bone chilling scream from the neighbor’s house next door. Before I knew it I was out of bed putting on my shoes to see what was happening. When I opened the front door I saw a bunch of other neighbors turning on porch lights to see what was going on too. What I saw next I could never un-see, it was the sweet old man that lived next door crouching over his blood stained wife. The problem with this image though is what he didn’t do. He wasn’t crying over her body in sorrow, nor was he standing in shock, instead his face was covered in blood and…

I am a true Floridian born and raised for the first fourteen years of my life in Homestead, Florida. My childhood growing up was difficult due to my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis, which profoundly affected my life. Being an only child and the thought of possibly losing my mother to cancer was devastating, especially since my father was absent the majority of my life. During my middle school years, I struggled so my mother decided to homeschool me. In 2011, my family relocated to Lakeland, Florida and I entered high school at Victory Christian Academy developing new friendships along with fond memories. Following graduation in 2015, the next year of my life was spent contemplating decisions on whether to register for college or obtain…

What’s great about Universal Studios is that they give you so many options and of different attraction that everyone can do. If you do not like big roller coasters they have many 3D stimulation rides, if you’re a thrill chaser they have big rollers coaster, and if you like something in between they have that too. My favorite ride at the park is the Hulk; I love how fast the ride goes because I am a bit of a thrill chaser. Though the Harry Potter Stimulation/Coaster is a great ride to go on with your family because it’s fun, and friendly to people of all ages. I love that when we would leave a ride how excited my family and I were, it really brought us close…

The sound of the ocean is a form of relaxation but for me, I like to call it home. Ventura is a small county located in the southern part of the California and for the past twenty-two years it has been my sanctuary. The other two years of my life I spent in a smaller town called Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. This was my birthplace and home to my parents until they made the decision of migrating directly to Ventura County. Within Irapuato City, there are small ranchos or ranches, located on the outskirts of town and at our rancho, we would raise pigs, goats, cows and, sheep. Surrounding our rancho there are acres of land, where we plant fruits and vegetables to consume and sell to our little community. Life in Mexico is much more rural than…

One day after school when I was eight, my parents conveyed to our family that we were moving due to my father’s job. I found this bizarre since we had just moved to our massive house in Fort Wayne, IN about two years earlier. I questioned where we were moving to, and my mother told us we were moving to Texas. This time we were moving across several states rather than just a few towns away. Up to that point in lives, we had lived in Indiana, so moving to Texas seemed so far away and across the country.…
