November 2002, the month that started another change to my parents life. In general, everything after 9/11 increased in difficulty. My parents started the paperwork, a rigorous process that would take a long time because of the recent 9/11 attacks. My foster family was very happy for me, though. They were beyond excited to know that I was going to a new and loving family. Once I was happily settled in the world, the adoption agency started filing for my visa, passport, and worked on many other important documents to get me home to the Unites States. The paperwork was finally done around the beginning of September. The paperwork then sat on a government official's desk for about a month because he was on vacation. When he returned, he eventually approved our paperwork. After he approved the paperwork, a flight was scheduled to arrive at the Detroit International Airport, and a person to fly home with me, Bonnie. The day had finally come, November 18th, 2003.
