Happiness Is
Beeeep! The final whistle blew, what a rush of emotions. You could hear the fans screaming, the coach jumping out of his seat, and all of our team sprinting to the center circle to begin the celebration. Champions… finally champions. That is the moment I realized what I wanted to do in the future. Whenever I want to feel good I reminisce back to that day because it is the day I found what makes me most happy in life, and ever since then I have trained harder and gotten better to rekindle that feeling. Don’t be a Debbie downer; brighten up and find joy in life. Find what makes you unique. Everyone has felt happiness at some point and has different views and emotions of it, but everyone should strive to do something that makes them happy all the time. …show more content…
Happiness can go a long way and this is a prime example. My current event is about Nico Calabria, a very famous teen that was born with no right hip or leg, yet he has become one of the best players on the United States National Amputee Soccer Team. The now 19 year old that lives in Concord, Massachusetts aspired to play in the world cup since the age of 5 and is now living his dream by representing his nation this November in Mexico for the Amputee Football World Cup. I think that he is a huge inspiration to everyone and is showing how determination can go a long way. The article about Nico emphasizes my thesis because he is living the dream and having fun along the way. Regardless of not being blessed with having two legs, he has made the most out of it and has overlooked all the criticism and adversity he has had to go through all his life. He didn’t let that stop him from becoming what he is now and show everybody that happiness is self-made. Only you have the power to make it happen because it all depends on whether you see the glass half empty or full. Do what makes you most happy in life.
Self-made happiness can come in many different ways, for me the moment you hear “Great job I’m proud of you”, or “The winner is” you know that your work was done right and can hang your head high because you just feel so accomplished and have a great sense of bravado. For as long as I can remember whenever I look at my report card and see I got really good grades, or find out that I did really good at something that I tried my hardest on it makes me feel fuzzy inside. I know I worked hard and stayed up late some nights, maybe I had to turn down my friends to go do something with them in order to get my stuff done. Regardless though the feeling in the end is the ultimate and I see that all my hard work and dedication paid off. Don’t only do the stuff you like to do, also step out of your comfort zone and experience it because you never know you might just find a new source of jubilation.
For me soccer, the sport were you kick the ball into the goal, is my obsession and passion.
It has become a living part of me that has a hunger for greatness, scoring a lot of goals, and get assists. I find it hard to put in to words what I feel when I play, but honestly all I need is a ball at my feet and I can be the happiest person ever. To most people soccer looks easy and simple but it’s actually very intricate and unpredictable. I think that when you see the fans stand up and scream “Gooooooooooal”, you feel a sense of accomplishment whether you lost, tied, or won because you know you gave it a 100% and with every time you play you notice you’re getting better. Every time I play soccer I get the greatest feeling in the world especially waking up early and smelling the fresh cut grass, it gives me a positive disposition. I love listening to my music in the car, so that I can get hyped and be 100% focused… it is truly my getaway from everything else. And I think everyone should drive themselves to find what makes them cheerful, and to stick with it because it truly rids your mind of all the negative and just makes you think of happy
thoughts.
To cap it all off, happiness is a great motivator and something that your everyday life should rely on. You shouldn’t depend on anyone to help you. After all happiness is self-made, and everybody has different feelings about it. However you just have to keep pushing. Find what makes you jubilant every day and don’t be discreet because it’s something you should be proud of. If you are having trouble figuring it out, take a drive down memory lane and you never know you might find what you have been looking for the entire time. Living life can be a drag and a burden, especially if you can’t find your “soccer” in life. The pursuit of Happiness never ends.
