Narrative Essay High School
Essay Class

At my old school, West Philly Highwe could bring our cell phones in the building during the day but, they had to be in our locker. We had dress down day jus so we could feel like our individual selves. They didn’t have a lot of strict rules but, they did enforce the rules they set in place. Classroom setting was a relaxing and fun learning environment. Our lockers were given out they day we picked up our rosters at the end of August. We didn’t have to go through medal detectors. Sayre you have to turn in your cell phones in the morning in and you can’t get it back until the end of the day. At the end of school everyone has to stand in a long line just to get your phone back, this takes up to much time after school. The

With people always talking over the loud speaker both the teachers and students complain that they can’t focus on their school work. All announcements should be made in the morning during advisory this way more work can be done. I don’t like the environment because it’s many distractions for me. Coming from school I’m not use to some of the stuff that goes on at public. Being checked early in the morning is too much to do because some people aren’t morning people at all. We should be able to bring our cell phones to school and keep them. Some people like me have small children that are in daycare and I need my phone in case of an emergency. Giving the daycare provider the school’s main number in case of an emergency I need direction contact to the daycare. I would change a lot of rules at Sayre but it would be only the ones that were just outrageous. The school needs to be more of a school setting with the teachers and students. The administration needs to have more communication with the teachers. This way they can have more control over the students and more of them will start coming to class. This way test scores will go up faster and the school will not be in danger of turning into a “Promise Academy”

After reviewing Sheyenne's cell phone policy and researching the benefits and drawbacks of cell phones, I urge you to revise the cell phone policy, and allow more cell phone use in the school. Cell phones are permitted in certain parts of the school, but the technology needs to be integrated into the classrooms. With this incorporation of technology in the classroom it can provide more depth in the lesson, and collaboration among students. Some teachers may see the use of cell phones in the classroom as disrespectful. They perceive this as disrespectful, for they took time to prepare the lesson, and the student is not paying attention. In actuality the student is not disturbing others, and if they decide to not pay attention,…

Soar 60, a well anticipated concept, is however deprived of student consideration and comprises a poorly planned timing schedule. Allow us to begin by saying thank you for the privilege to have more free time than in the recent years. Though, with all good things, there are negatives that follow. I think that the first thing we should address is the strictness that is upheld within this hour. Bathrooms are shut down, there is no food allowed in the media center, or within the halls, we are constantly watched, and we have restrictions on the days we are allowed to be freely in a teacher’s classroom. We know that this is because of the lack of well made choices currently perceived, but not every student should be punished. According to a teacher named Lynne Diligent “ treating all the students the same way is not effective” (Diligent). I thinks that theses actions should only be put into play for the students who have abused this privilege. Next up we have the issue of when and where we can use the…

There is more than one side to the debate about cell phone availability during school. One claim is that students should be allowed to have their phones on them and use their cell phones during appropriate times. In the article, the authors provide details about how there are numerous reasons why cell phones should be allowed during school. Students should be allowed access to cell phones, because if they are responsible enough to be going off to college in a year or so, they should be responsible enough to have a cell phone on them and use it wisely (George and Cook). Another reason why cell phones should be allowed in school is because otherwise it can create a divide between the students and the teachers. Students are so invested in their phones, so if a teacher…

With the dawn of a new school year, a new rule has been released to the middle schoolers of DJDS. The rule involves their phones being in their locker at all times, except the beginning and end of school. Most middle schoolers believe that the NPR (No Phone Rule) has been a devastation because they believe that there were no problems when they could use their phones. I questioned a few students and a teacher about what they thought of the NPR. Unsurprisingly, both the students had something similar to say. One claimed that he was being, “Stripped of a freedom because of other people's actions.” The other explained, “There were no problems when I was allowed to use my phone.” From a teacher’s point of view, he stated, “Middle school students…

What we should change about the time spent in school is have a later start and a shorter day because this allows student and staff to get we rested and be able to do more after school activities. We should also change the rules on class option we should make more electives and only make core classes mandatory. This is allowing students to learn a variety of stuff instead of just having four exploratories. Last but not least we should make are passing periods longer so kids don't have to run to there locker and then run to there class.…

Middle school was really weird time for me. It seemed like it was the most dramatic / drama filled. Our school at St. Peters was messed up, anything that could happen did. I've had teacher come up to me and ask for answers to what happened. Students doing bad things and etc. Also middle school to me was so fun, because people who I like got in trouble because of me. If you weren't my friend at St. Peters you better hope that you weren't mean to me, because if you were the teachers would find out what you did and they get in trouble.…

Lastly I do have to admit that not all of the rules would be too bad. I mean a charging station and bulletin board is clever but can’t we have another separate space for things like that? Maybe an empty room for a charging area or even just finding empty space on the walls for bulletin boards. My school does have charging rooms for students who are unable to charge laptops at home but we also still have lockers. So those would be nice to have just in addition to the lockers we already do have.…

Middle school. That time in everyone's life when the girls wear way too much blue eyeshadow. Guys are true to themselves because they are not trying to impress anyone. Most importantly, though it is the time when everyone is trying to find where they belong.
