Her alarming accident happened only four months prior to me starting high school in a completely new environment. Not only was I terrified to start in a new school with new surroundings but now I needed to worry about my grandmother’s condition. My nerves were at an all-time peak in my life and it was a matter of time before I would have a mental breakdown. Every morning for two months I would pray for her recovery and thank God for giving her another day to live. After what felt like years of uneasiness and concern, my grandmother was finally released from one of the many hospitals she had been admitted to. My family and I could tell that although her speech and short term memory would never be the same, she would finally be coming back home. Seeing these nurses treat my grandma as a woman and human being instead of some diagnostic disease made my heart light up with solace.
