There were so many genres to choose from. We would all don old fashion grab, they would give the guys a gun or two and we would get in front of the decorated set. We would all get into place and we would hear, “no smiling folks”, the smiling young photographer would say. I must say they were some funny photos. At noon, it was time to get together, get our hand stamped, then off to the picnic area. I have very fond memories of those lunches with my family. Six Flags was my first taste of teen freedom too. There was one year I would guess I was somewhere around thirteen, my parents finally agreed to let my best friend go with us. Arriving at the park we were surprised for them to tell us we could go by ourselves to ride whatever we wanted. The only stipulation was that we meet them at the front gate at noon for lunch and a few minutes before closing, FREEDOM! That was a great day Just like most parents I started taking my son to Six Flags. I have such fond memories of our times at the park. For me to be able to watch my son enjoy some of the same rides that I enjoyed as a kid was fantastic. Watching a child run and have so much fun, is what keeps me young. And sweets abound here, the hard part is choosing. Maybe I’m in the mood for the deep fried powdered sugar covered Funnel Cake, but Six Flags ups the ante with even more sugar with the Waffle Cake sundae. Might be that I want something chocolaty and decadent, that would mean a visit to the World’s Fair Fudgery. This chocolate goodness would taste outstanding but, I think a good old-fashioned caramel apple would hit the spot.
We ride some rides and next thing we know we are in Britannia, and that means Friar Tucks turkey legs and waffle fries. These turkey legs are enormous, two or three of us can share just one. They are so good. This place has just about every kind of food I could want, from All American burgers to BBQ, and from pizza to tacos, they even have lighter choice for those of us watching what we eat. Six Flags has it all and so much more.
