National Honors Society Reflection
In all the years I have attended high school so far, I have been reminded by many teachers that earning service hours if very important. This was because colleges would much rather accept an applicant that has been doing good out of school and also very rounded, service hours show this. When I first heard about the National Honors Society, I have been told that this is a very prestigious Society because it will help with our service hours and also that it will look extremely well in our transcripts.
My point of view on the function of this organization is that its goal is to recognize students that are not just honor roll but as well as students that have great character, leadership and excellence. NHS also provides students with many opportunities

They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. As an executive officer in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, each individual is responsible for a legacy project during the school year. I was responsible for SOS Children’s Village which is a foster care neighborhood that houses children that were abused, neglected and/or abandoned. Even though this was a one-day experience, I was thrilled about the opportunity to work with children as I believe that no child should be denied proper medical care and a healthy home. It is said that time goes by when you are having fun. This was true for our experience as we went four hours over time. I coordinated leadership and team building activities for the children in which both the volunteers and participants enjoyed.
