Natural, Why Not?
Tennessee State University hosts a Natural Hair Expo every year, giving great advice on how to keep your natural hair healthy. This big event consists of booths, vendors, a concert, hair stylist stations, food, etc. The Nashville Natural Hair & Wellness Expo was very expensive, entertaining, and informative.
The expo tickets ranged from different prices. Of course the V.I.P ticket was the most expensive, the big thing about this ticket was that you were allowed to eat the wonderful smelling food. You could also get your hair and nails done. If you were fortunate enough to attend Tennessee State University (TSU) you only had to pay a $15 admission fee; whereas if you were apart the general public you had to pay a $20 admission fee. If you are a professional stylist you just had to pay a $35 admission fee. I purchased a general ticket, but I should’ve realized that I would need more money. Especially, with all of the different booths and venders that were there, they sure weren’t cheap.
The different classes made this expo very informative. I started out with a quick consultation from the design crew, where they told me what my hair type is and what products I should use. Then, I went to the different booths that carried all sorts of different products that could make my hair grow and stay healthy. I probably spent at least $60 on hair products. My ticket paid for all the classes I could take just to see how to keep myself fit and my hair healthy. I only went to two classes, the first one was on how to eat and exercise right. The second class was on different hair styles I can wear.
In between all the madness of either getting your hair done or getting a consultation there were different performances and activities you could take part in. Elle Varner, Kenny Latimore, and Kindred, The Soul Family performed for us. I wish they would have done a sound and lighting check, I could
