Everyone is aware of the name Wake Forest University carries. Obviously, I too want to be part of the Demon Decan Community. Wake Forest embodies the community spirit that encourages intellectualism and promotes civic engagement. The biggest reason for transferring to Wake Forest University is the philosophy of educating the whole person. As an Aga Khan Foundation Youth Ambassador, I was heavily involved with sustainable projects that had a purpose of solving challenges the ambassadors identified in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Neither of our projects were one day projects, or charitable in any sense. Because the Aga Khan Foundation focuses on sustainable development, the ambassadors make sure to model the work and “Think globally, act locally.” Rooted deep into Wake Forest’s community is the…

As you may remember from your own experiences, the transition from collegiate member to alumna can be a challenge. Sisters scatter far and wide, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma community our collegiate members once felt may seem distant as they begin their adult lives. Although this may seem like a scary time for our graduating seniors, we encourage our alumna members to take the opportunity to welcome these young women into alumna life. Holding a graduating senior event for collegiate Kappas in your area is a chance to celebrate their accomplishments and introduce them to the community, network, and benefits of alumna membership.…

An aspect of college that I have found exciting is the school pride. I expected to see everyone on campus focused on whatever it is their goal is at Polk State but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how amped up everyone got when there was a school function like club rush, spirit week, or even a basketball game. This small campus had me fooled that no one would care or bat an eye at school related activities but it seems like thats what this school thrives on, it reminds me of the same type of camaraderie you would find at FSU on a football game-day. Club rush and spirit week were the two things that got me the most excited about being a student at Polk State, not only were they bringing all the students together to mingle and make new friendships but it was fun.…

Many students who are undertaking, or have completed a Beauty Therapy qualification, do so on the assumption that the skills and qualifications they gain will be enough to secure them a job in the industry. The Babtac website states that only 60% of graduates find employment within the first 6 months of completing their training and only 45% are still in employed in the industry after two years.
