Are you willing to compromise someone’s future by criminalizing abortion. Perceiving abortion as murder is a biased act that is influenced by personal beliefs and experiences. There are many people in this world with many beliefs and opinions on abortion, making hard to make the law dictate people’s decisions on abortion.
Abortion should not be a choice made by the society or the law. Despite the legal view on abortion if people came to the conclusion that abortion is the best choice to make they will abort the child, even if abortion was illegal. Making abortion an underground service and almost impossible to prevent unsafe abortion! The government has one of the two option make abortion illegal and suffer the consequences of poor teen maternal and child health and high mortality due to unsafe abortion; or make abortion legal and protecting females from health issues related to unsafe abortion and early pregnancy. Also, legalizing abortion gives pregnant teens a choice to abort the fetus. Hence, abortion gives people their reproductive rights. By legalizing abortion you are giving people a choice. As for the society, we need to accept that some people have the freedom to abort a child if they chose to. However, our society stigmatizes those who engage in deviant behavior as a way to prevent that behavior (“Schur”). Sadly, many people stigmatize, but is stigmatizing ethical?
