My first objection is based on environmental grounds. Encroaching on these areas to build flats will damage the habitats of animals, and trees will lose their habitats. Hong Kong green space is less and less because Hong Kong develops nonstop. As a result, animal habitats disappear slowly and varieties also become extinct. Therefore cannot let the situation continues to deteriorate.
Also, such a method could harm the tourist industry. Many visitors who come here want to go hiking in the country parks and they will be put off if flats are built. Officials talk about promoting a green Hong Kong and yet some people want to put housing over environmental protection .It is because if we are saying one thing and doing another, it will damage Hong Kong's image.
My broader concern is to do with the standard of living and quality of life of Hong Kong citizens. We already have to endure air and noise pollution. Conditions will only get worse if we end up with fewer recreational facilities.
The development of scale is the not important. The focus is that the country park is the hills and mountains, not suitable for large-scale construction of housing. It will not help solving the housing problem. The direction is wrong. Generally the people who have housing problem are the lower class. Even building a house in the wild, do you want people to walk down and up the mountain every day? Especially for the elderly, traffic is extremely inconvenient,
It is important to meet the housing needs of citizens, but surely not at the expense of our countryside areas and the health of Hong Kong people. There must be other available options to
