No Filter Short Story
The central idea of “No Filter” is that even though Jordyn and Mariah were very different, they found a common ground and became great friends. The central idea is developed through Mariah and Jordyn’s interactions and feelings. In the story Jordyn says, “I didn’t tell her, but I actually went onto her website and read some of the less juvenile stuff.” This shows that even though they were different, Jordyn wanted to find a common ground so she gave reading Mariah’s stories a try. Mariah also helps develop the plot when she says she has always wanted to try out sports. She says, “Mariah told me she’d always wanted to try sports.” This shows that even though they are different they are open to the other’s interests and want to try them out.

One way that Eric Walters was able to confirm relationships are important to a person’s life was through the interaction between Jed and the injured eagle he found. Earlier in the story, Jed explains to the reader how much eagle’s mean to him and to his Tsimshian culture. “ An eagle is more than a bird, it’s part of our heritage and history” (Walters 47). So, naturally, when Jed noticed a bullet hole through its body, he felt the obligation to nurse it back to full health. During this time, Jed became so attached to the bird that an unbreakable relationship was created. He treated the eagle as if it were his own pet. Consequently, this relates to the point of humans having an unbreakable relationship with their pets because any pet owner will…

Here I am again; working for another rich family to do their labour. I hate having no freedom. I have been owned by different rich families ever since I was born. I am now 16, 17 in a month, I think. I kind of lose track. I never met my parents. They were slaves for other folks so I guess I won’t ever get to meet them. I don’t get jealous of the rich families though. They got no respect; the young spoilt, spiteful children treat me like a piece of shit on their shoe. I can’t do nothing though, us whites get hung for disrespecting the family, for all I know my parents could’ve been dangled dead years ago.…

to frequency. Ideally, a filter will not add new frequencies to the input signal, nor will it change the component frequencies of that signal, but it will change the relative amplitudes of the various frequency components and/or their phase relationships. Filters are often used in electronic systems to emphasize signals in certain frequency ranges and reject signals in other frequency ranges. Such a filter has a gain which is dependent on signal frequency.…
