90% of the information we receive is through non-verbal manifestations of the companion. Imagine that I was offered an interview for a job. The sequence of my actions.
Greeting.
When my interviewer will be ready to speak to me, I will come to his office quietly but confident. If the interviewer is appropriate to welcome a handshake, it must be firm and bold. Shivering and wet hands a sign of excessive nervousness. I greet the interviewer with restrained, but with an open smile. From the very first minutes of our conversation,
he must understand that I peacefully configured and ready to open the conversation. I will not start talking immediately or dive into a chair. If you I am not invited to sit, I will choose a chair across or beside the interviewer's desk.
Gestures, poses and eye contact.
While I will be speaking about myself, and want to paid special attention to one or other points in my speech, the accent will be active gestures and I will be looking straight but not stare into interviewer`s eyes.
I will not delay the eye contact for more than 7 seconds at a time. It can cause irritation or embarrassment interviewer. Undesirable for me to move away from the interviewer, tilted head, look down or from side to side. All this will give him a reason to think that I am not completely honest or unsure of myself. Sitting on a chair, I will try to stay freely and moderately ease. Throw leg over the leg, of course, I will not, but sit as a soldier, too, not worth it. If I am very nervous and do not want to show it, I woud join hands and put them on the table. Nervousness and excitement give it hands often, and in this position they will remain immovable.
Voice.
My voice should be natural. Do not try specifically to make it louder or expressive. I risk to overdo it and then whatever I say will sound out of tune. I would say calm, gentle, confident tone. Choose comfortable for myself rate of speech without changing it into the conversation. I will not talk monotonously. My voice should signal to the interviewer that I am is truly interested in getting this job and I am pleasing the current conversation, so the sound of the voices
should be lively and rather emotional.
