Unfortunately, there is a commonality that each treatment provider is faced with a client that only has one single issue. However, in this example, the client has more than one issue ranging from substance abuse to mental illness to homelessness. The provider will then need to determine if the client will need additional assistance with other issues that may be outside our scope of practice. For example, if the provider is working in a substance abuse treatment program the primary focus is helping the client to stop using drugs and/ or alcohol. As the client is no longer supposed to use substances or drink, the client can no longer reside in an environment where substances and/or alcohol are being used; this can become a trigger for the client and risk the client’s sobriety and recovery. This client is now homeless and will need assistance with housing. As the client continues in sobriety the treatment provider may notice that the client appears to be struggling with mental health issues that have not been previously diagnosed; this client will now need to be referred to a mental health provider for further evaluation and possible medication management. The provider has been made aware of these arising situations through communication and effective listening skills while interacting with the client in the group and individual therapy process. The provider will need to be aware of the client’s verbal and non-verbal cues as the clients’ affect may be incongruent with the current situation. The provider will also need to be aware of the client’s cultural issues as treatment may cause the client to have stigmatization within his or her family…

Although we already know it is essential to eat a healthy diet, we may find it more challenging to sort through all of the information about nutrition and food choices. Nutrition is the provision to cells and organisms of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life. Healthy eating helps prevent high cholesterol and high blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. Many people today in America are malnourished and it is mostly due to indulging in unhealthy/poor dietary intake. These problems can be controlled by utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to public education. The doctors, social workers, nurses, dieticians and other health educators involved in health promotion should all have a part in ensuring and promoting healthy dietary intake with appropriate food portions and increasing physical activity.…

(2014) stated that recovery-orientated care ‘has been identified as essential to providing good quality services’. Nonetheless, a number of shortcomings of this principle still persist. The possible ambiguity toward the patient's hospital based care and treatments they are on is one of the drawbacks of the recovery-focused practice. This system should then involve; enabling the patient’s choices where suitable, providing patients with access to helpful information on treatments and their effects, and meaningful incorporation in decision-making. To assist the recovery model, patients should be given effective advice on their role in treatment so they can help develop planned targets and outcomes. Acute patients receiving care with the recovery approach should consider the potential conflict between recovery-focused nursing care and function-controlling care. Therefore, Baker et al. (2014) also highlighted that the success of this intervention depends on how nurses work with mental health clients. It is essential for carers to work in partnership with patients to work toward their social inclusion. This can be attained through specialised group activities designed to encourage social development of the…

Her name is Kimberly Addison and she is a registered nurse in the State Of California, who acquired her registered nursing license August 31st 1987. She has experience as a hospice nurse, Charge nurse, trauma nurse, Head nurse of the ER and Director of Nursing. One of the first questions I asked Mrs. Addison was that if I wanted to take up nursing what should I do and what are the primary requirements. She responded by saying, “perspective nurses should complete a diploma program or an associate, bachelor's degree program in nursing. She told me all nursing programs require students to take courses in anatomy, physiology, chemistry, microbiology, psychology and social behavioral science”. When you have completed completion of state approved training programs and the passed the national Council licensure examination for register nurses you will be recognized in the medical community as an entry-level registered nurse. She also mentioned when you first start out you will be evaluating and implementing care also administering medication according to the orders by the doctor. She also mentioned that when she was training as a nurse’s aide her nurse that was training her taught her that assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation are the core principles then you will carry with you no matter what type of care you provide as a nurse or a physician.…
