Nursing Practicum Report
On the third day of my first week practicum, I was allocated to work with a RN to supervised me during afternoon shift. I asked the RN if I could have my own 2 patient load, however the RN refused and stated that usually during student first week here, I only left them observe and not take patient load.
I felt frustrated because I know I am competent to have my own 2 patient load as this is not my first hospital prac. [Try to use full versions of words rather than abbreviations]
During the shift even thought I didn’t have patient load, I was still able to administer medication, assisted with feeding, and changing resident. I also learn from her nursing skill.
The RN didn’t give me patient load because she didn’t know the level of experience
