Obama Care Healthcare for our Future
Obama care will provide affordable health insurance for all United States citizens and reduce the growth in healthcare spending. The reason so many Americans are without healthcare is due to the high cost and access of insurance. Healthcare reform has been evolving throughout centuries. In the early 1920s insurance did not exist and many Americans were paying out of pocket. Healthcare was less costly because doctors were not aware of many diseases that we are aware of now. When diseases and effective treatment began that is when healthcare became costly after the 1920s. This is when commercial health insurance was established for example
BlueCross and BlueShield to offer coverage. To this day forty five point seven million
Americans are without healthcare because it is not offered or they can’t afford it, therefore the
Obama care act will give the opportunity for all U.S. citizens to have affordable healthcare insurance. Obama Care has its’ cons as well such as taxes on small business. Businesses that have more than fifty full time employees will be enforced to provide health insurance or will be penalized. . Due to this penalty many employers will cut hours and not hire. Due to Obama Care in 2014 it will be mandatory for all U.S. citizens to purchase insurance or
they will be penalized as well up to $95.00 at the end of the year. It is estimated that 6 million people will pay the fine rather than purchasing insurance. Another con would be making contraceptive a form of birth control mandatory as well whether your belief or religion this benefit must be provided. This was stated to be one of the most challenged portions of the new health reform.
