Observation Of Hardman's Struggle
On Sunday 08/27/17 at 1319 hours I was dispatched to an obvious death at 2304 A ST SE trailer #90 in the City of Auburn, King Co, WA. Dispatch advised the reporting person, Heidi Hardman, stated her 88 year old father, Edward Hardman, was obviously deceased, and she was no giving him CPR because he had standing "do not resuscitate" (DNR) order. Dispatch added that Heidi stated the last time Edward was seen awake was 2300 hours the night prior.

I met with Heidi at the above address with Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA). VRFA checked Edward, and stated he was obviously deceased.

I observed Edward was lying in bed with a blanket over his body and appeared to have passed away in his sleep. I did not observe any signs of a struggle, or

Before he died, Edward IV wrote out a set of instructions for what he wanted to happen in the event of his death. The first he wrote stated that there would be a council consisting of several people, to advise Edward V and govern for him until he was old enough to perform of his own accord. It was made clear that Elizabeth Woodville would sit on this council and be in a position with a lot of power. However, before he died Edward IV made amendments to this. The exact document was never recovered and so it is unclear as to what exactly it said, but it is agreed…

"Near the threshold he stopped, horror-stricken at the sight of a thing. He was being looked at by a dead man who was seated with his back against a columnlike tree. The corpse was dressed in a uniform that had once been blue, but was now faded to a melancholy shade of green. The eyes, staring at the youth, had changed to the dull hue to be seen on the side of a dead fish. The mouth was open. Its red had changed to an appalling yellow. Over the gray skin of the face ran little ants. One was trundling some sort of bundle along the upper lip.”…

Ed Gein was born 1906, in Plainview, Wisconsin. His father was a violent alcoholic, and his mother an obsessive Lutheran. His mother kept Ed, and his brother Henry, from any outside influence. Allowing them only to go to school, and return home. His mother often told them bible stories, and preached about how evil alcohol and women were. Ed Gein’s first murder could have been his brother, Henry, because he started to resent their mother. Henry didn’t share his mother’s opinion of the world, and even became worried about how close Ed and their mother had become. In 1944 during a wildfire on the property, Ed ran to the police stating that he had lost his brother in the fire. After alerting the authorities, Ed led them directly to where the body was. Henry was lying on the ground with blunt trauma to the side of his head, his clothes were also unburned. Police dismissed this evidence, and coroner said he died of asphyxiation. Gein was never formally charged with his brother’s murder.…

Joann Curley was a middle aged woman who appeared to have fallen in love instantly when she met her future husband, Robert Curley. After they married in the summer of 1990, the couple, including her young daughter Angela, moved into her home in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. By all outward appearances they seemed to be the picture perfect family. Robert received a promotion at his job as a foreman for the chemistry laboratory he worked for. As a family it appeared they had a bright future ahead. Everyone was happy and in love, or were they? Soon after, Robert fell ill for the first time in August 1991 and in less than two months he rapidly deteriorated until his death on September 27, 1991. Robert’s sudden death was a shock to everyone including medical staff. At first doctors could not figure out what had caused Robert to become so severely ill. Was this an accidental work related illness, something genetic, or the deliberate acts of something more sinister?…

At 4am dispatch received a call from the resident at 137 West Alexander Drive, who claimed to have heard a scream from his neighbours house. Captain Jason Long turned the case over to Officer Brice Tyler, Officer Lily Rayne, and I. At approximately 4:30am we arrived at the house knocking on the door. The young man answered with a smile on his face. I had noted that he seemed wide awake, as if he had been up for some time, as he invited us inside. We told him of our cause of being there, and he immediately told us the old man was visiting his sister in another town. He did not give us more details. instead, he showed us that the old mans belongings were exactly in there proper place. Afterward, he asked us to sit down in the bedroom, chatting easily about his evening. Soon after, he seemed to become agitated, raising his voice and speaking angrily. He was soon pacing and hitting the table, threatening us to make us stop agonising him, even though we did not say a threatening word to him.…

A Do Not Resuscitate, or DNR order is a written order from a doctor that resuscitation should not be attempted if a person suffers cardiac or respiratory arrest. Such an order may be instituted on the basis of an advance directive from a person, or from someone entitled to make decisions on their behalf, such as a health care proxy; in some jurisdictions, such orders can also be instituted on the basis of a physician’s own initiative, usually when resuscitation would not alter the ultimate outcome of a disease, and is designed to prevent unnecessary suffering.…

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, this is a very controversial debate, is it right to kill someone who is already going to die; or they suffer out their last days as nature takes its course? I personally do not think it’s a crime to take someone’s life who wants to die due to medical conditions. Some people say he should have never been released from prison, others differ. Should euthanasia and the right to die be made legal? This is a debate that will go on for centuries as Dr. Jack Kevorkian launches euthanasia for humans in the 1990’s.…
