Occupational justice framework can address occupational deprivation by stating the unfairness that may arise in situations where someone is being deprived of engaging in an occupation that is meaningful to him or her. For instance, a student with autism that is also nonverbal may enjoy communicating with others but due to finances or the lack of proper resources in the school he or she attends, the student cannot get technology to help the student talk to people in an easier way. …show more content…
Some environmental features that may contribute to occupational deprivation include, the location of where the person lives (geographical), the building where a person lives, the lack of appropriate resources in terms of people, poor family structure, and political systems.
Proposition 1 explains that society plays a vital, influential role on one’s identity of his or her selves and one’s identity is made up of both self-esteem and self-concept (Christiansen, 1999). Identity influence relationships and vice versa because identity takes into consideration one’s definition of self, one’s values, and the interpersonal aspect. For example, of Proposition 1, someone may identity themselves as a mother figure because society has influenced who mothers are and how mothers act. That person’s identity of a mother figure comes from the roles and relationships they have with the people around them.
