This suggests that man is way more powerful than woman and a woman has to rely on a man to make a living. Furthermore, Curley’s wife is always looking for excitement or trouble, she always flirts with the workers in the farm. This shows that men in the 1930s think that women are not important and the only purpose of women is to entertain them. Moreover, Curley’s wife had a dream to be a movie star in Hollywood. However, her dream would never came true, because women in 1930s have so rights to choose and men are the only people who can make decisions for women.
