Oklahoma City Life
When I first moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University I could immediately feel change. Coming from a place like Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has very many differences than Stillwater. Most people actually say once you move off to college you will lose things like personal space, personal property, privacy, etc. In some cases, that is not always true; for example, I never really had my own personal space until moving to college. Moving to college is like having your own living space to get away from the world for a bit. That is when privacy kicks in. If you live in a traditional dorm you are likely to have a roommate. Which means the guidelines are already influencing you to share your personal belongings with one another, which is actually a good aspect. Sometimes it is better to be friends with your roommate than enemy’s. Another factor could also be agreeing with one another with the way things are; in this situation, one person might think the room is clean while to the other roommate they might think it is a bit messy. Moving away from home to a new location has changed some of my aspects in many ways; for instance, while being in Stillwater I actually feel safer around my community than as in Oklahoma City it can sometimes be more dangerous in ways like more robbing’s and break-ins. The social environment is totally different in so many different ways. When moving to college you meet much more people around you and get to know the people that live in your community. Most places that you go in a college town many conversations start with “what year are you?” or “what are you studying?” Even if you are fifteen minutes across town you still are usually asked these questions, because college towns are usually mainly run by college students. While as in a regular city town or capital you just
