Who is Oliveye?
Oliveye is a singer-songwriter from Vancouver, B.C. She released her debut EP “Come Undone” this past summer of 2016. She has sold dozens of copies and the album has been played more than 1,000 times on Spotify. She continues to perform around British Columbia and some noted venues include The Roxy, Media Club, and The Red Room. With the launch of her debut EP, she hopes to tour around Canada in the coming year.
Her music is said to have a groovy pop sound, with smooth strong vocals and positive messages. Some have commented that she sounds like a Disney princess singing about her life in the “real world”. Her lyrics are drawn from her experiences in dealing with self-esteem issues and relationships. With her music, she hopes to reach out to those who resonate with her words and empower them to love themselves and let them know that they are not alone. She believes music is not only an outlet for expression but uses it as a healing tool as well. “When I’m writing a song, I write about something that I feel compelled to express in that moment. Whether it is a thought that is bothering me or a feeling of deep joy, I write it out.
