This team is quite a complex one. The services of skilled and experienced specialist doctors are often required in the team. Oncologists are doctors that treat cancer patients from the beginning of the diagnosis. Working as a multidisciplinary team has its many benefits as diagnosing and treating often come with many complexities. Cancer patients are often treated by a team of medicals practitioners from various fields of oncology.

An oncology social worker assists the patient in a variety of ways. He helps the patient to cope with the challenges of the diseases or may sometimes assist in sources funding for the treatment of the patients. An oncology social worker will also help in counseling and other beneficial resources for the patients.
Generally, the approach to cancer treatment gives improved patient care. It also proffers a seamless communication between the team, the patients and their families. Patient care must come top. It is believed that a team based method is important to getting maximum outcomes. All the members of the team have to work together – Nurses, PAs, NPs, Nutritionists, Pharmacists and MDs – In order to offer the finest possible patient-centric care. However, there should be no attempt to substitute physicians with their experience in the interest of cost reduction. A balance between cost and optimal care is just a tiny slope, the team members must always have their attention on the patients – nothing should substitute the Doctor-Patient relationship. Also the team must work to protect the core principles of this noble profession and of course, the patients
