Residential Living Assistant Worksheet

Human Services: There are multiple job levels in the Human Services industry segment. Starting with level 1, the jobs become increasingly more difficult as the levels increase. The information below states the job titles, descriptions, skills needed and wage range for each level within the Human Services industry. See appendix B for worksheet.
Level 1:
Title – Residential Living Assistant
Description – Provides medical and personal care to the residents of group homes and living facilities. They assist patients with daily hygiene and other daily personal care procedures as well as transport patients throughout residential facilities and on supervised trips outside of the facilities. They are able to administer medication to patients with
the supervision of a nurse or physician.
Skills/Education Needed - Assistants must have the ability to follow guidelines and instructions to perform required tasks. This individual works with and under the supervision of a supervisor. (Salary.com, 2017)
Candidate must have a high school diploma or experience in the field.. Individuals in this position must be able to stand for long periods of time, as well as able to lift and help transport residents. (Salary.com, 2017)

Level 2:
Title – Residential Living Supervisor
Description - Supervise the residential living staff as well as provide training to staff on care techniques. This position allows the individual to administer medication to patients with the supervision of a nurse or physician. Leadership abilities are essential as this person leads and directs staff for daily procedures. Residential Living Supervisors report to a manager concerning daily activities. (Salary.com, 2017)

Title – Medical Social Worker – Home Care
Description - Interviews patients and their families to effectively coordinate and plan programs and activities to meet the patient's social and emotional needs.
They provide crisis intervention and assist families in understanding the implications and complexities of medical situations and the impact on lifestyle. Coordinates and plans with outside agencies and home care nursing staff for post-discharge care. Title – Social Work Manager
Description - Plans and implements programs to meet the social and emotional needs of patients and patients' families in a hospital setting. Creates plans for patients care procedures after release from hospital. This position requires strong leadership ability as they lead and direct the work of others. Title – Top Behavioral Health
Executive
Description - Responsible for all aspects of a healthcare organization's behavioral health functions. This executive position is responsible for creating standards and guidelines for behavioral care services and programs, as well as overseeing the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.
