Further the Native act of 1923 reduced the flow of Africans in the city but mainly imposed the segregation through residential areas. It was only later in 1948 that there was an only Afrikaner government. Such a party was the NP (Nationalist Party), whom regained political power on the 4th June 1948. This is when apartheid was brought about officially. Apartheids ideology was to reallocate Africans to areas that weren’t resourceful and further try to develop individual nations almost amongst each segregated sect of people. Africans were made to live in their tribal communities. this created the Africans to live within their homeland and not intervene in the whites lives.
