Optical Flash Essay
There are three main attributes that characterize gunfire facilitating the detection and location of gunfire. An optical flash, which occurs when an explosive charge is ignited to propel a projectile from the chamber of the weapon, a muzzle blast, and a shock wave which occurs as a projectile moves through the air at supersonic speeds (Maher 2007). The combination of a muzzle blast and a shockwave provides additional information that can be used along with the physics of acoustics and sound propagation to determine the range of a discharge to the sensor, especially if the round or type of projectile is known.

In the case of scenario two, the shooting incident was taken place in a crowd of people when an individual was delivering speech on a slightly raised podium at a range of 25m. A low popping sound was heard by most people in the crowd but the shooter or the gun was not seen by anyone. As a result of the shooting, the victim had a small entry wound in the lower abdomen without any exit wound. In my opinion, the most suitable weapon I have chosen is Glock 19 4th Generation 9mm Pistol with an ammunition of Federal Classic Hi-Shock jacketed hollow point 9mm 115 grain ammunition, also used with a sound suppressor.…

Then I would explain that his target is below the surface of the lake and that by firing a steady stream of rounds at it, we might be able to hit it. (Well, this probably will not happen as anything that is covered by 4feet or more of water is fairly safe from being struck by conventional bullets.) While he is happily firing away at the target, I would direct his attention to the circular ripples on the surface of the target area being created by the impact of the .50 caliber slugs striking the water’s surface in a steady stream, the spacing between them, and then mention how the spacing relates to the frequency to the impacts. I would also say that since the bullets were being fired at a steady rate, that we could say that they were fired in an analog fashion.…

Entrepreneurship, Jeff Cornwall at Belmont University defined it as, “A process of identifying, evaluating, seizing an opportunity and bringing together the resources necessary for success.” (www.belmont.edu) There are a wide variety of risks when it comes to starting and running your own business, just some of them are: under capitalization, poor management, market misjudgment, and lack of planning. Two of these go hand – in – hand, lack of planning and under capitalization, and this due to improper planning. For example, when someone says “Just looking!” while searching for an item in a new store, you put yourself in a bad situation because your business is not completely laid out. How can you budget money? If you do get your business up and going should you hire employees…

This presentation deals with the topic of flashbulb memories and how accurate they can be. The awareness of flashbulb memory was first conveyed by psychologist Roger Brown and James Kulik in 1977. It was proposed that flashbulb memories are so emotionally important to us that they are embedded with vividness, accuracy and with complete fullness in our minds. They argued for an existence of a memory mechanism that, when triggered by an event that was of unusual and exceeding levels of surprise and consequence, created a permanent record of the details surrounding the experience. This though has been put to question.…
