Optometrists are eye doctors who have many responsibilities. They help prevent vision problems and determine if they have eye problems. In order to be optometrists, you must have a state license, obtain a BS and complete a program. Prospective optometrists must obtain a BS, including classes in biology, chemistry, and physics in their course of study. Then, they must complete a Doctor of Optometry program. Such programs generally take four years and include classes in anatomy, optics, and visual science, as well as supervised clinical experience." "Before going into practice, an optometrist must obtain a state license."(paragraph 8) Optometrists have the responsibility to make time for their patient and now when their patient is in need of care. In order for optometrists to see if their patients have eye problems, they run numerous test. "During an eye exam, an optometrist will run tests that involve charts, lights, and other machines."(paragraph 1 Dig Deeper) However, other eye doctors suggested a new method. They say that Nintendo 3DS can be able to help identify vision problems. Since vision is usually ruin because of kids staring at a screen all day, people doubt that this method will ruin a kids vision. Although, they say that it is fine unless they look at it for a short time. Besides, the 3D option from the Nintendo 3DS can show the sign for amblyopia. "For example, when a young patient doesn't see the 3-D effect on the 3DS, it could be a sign that he or she has amblyopia, or "lazy eye." For a child with amblyopia, vision does not develop properly in one eye. One eye produces a clear image. The other eye creates a blurred image. Over time, the child's brain ignores the blurry image. If left untreated, the condition can lead to permanent vision problems."(paragraph
