3 The eye being such a vital sense within a human body, in fact, the most optimal sense which
4 gives us the ability to capture moments which then go on to become memories is the primary
5 reason why my aspiration to study optometry continues to increase. I have chosen to apply for
6 a science foundation year in order to study optometry in the future.

8 When visual impairment begins, optometrists are the pioneers in regards to aiding our
9 eyesight. Developing on the idea of helping others, I personally believe there is no greater
10 reward then helping people directly in the form of eyesight in order to achieve their

Through studying optometry, I will not only be taking up a
17 degree but a passion in which I continue to want to attain knowledge and wisdom.

19 Although my aspiration for optometry developed during the process of studying my A Level's, I
20 am currently only studying one science advanced level. Therefore, I have applied for a
21 foundation year, which would be favourable for me in regards to attaining the scientific
22 knowledge needed for the optometry degree.

24 Throughout school, I have accomplished many achievements. These include taking part in The
25 Brilliant Club during Year ten where lecturers from Warwick University delivered short
26 lectures and after this we were required to complete a 2000 word dissertation in which I
27 achieved a second class upper division. From this, my research capabilities had increased
28 drastically. Public speaking in regards to faith, school council, mentoring as well being
