I am very honored to have been given the privilege to be a graduating student from Barry University’s Biomedical Science program. Being in this program has helped push me to become more disciplined and focused as a person, and helped improve my study habits and time management skills, which I believe is very important in succeeding in optometry school. Each of my classes and my professors were exceptionally challenging in their own way, but learning how to overcome these challenges helped transform me into a stronger student as well as a stronger person. I chose to attend Barry University’s Biomedical Science program so that I can better prepare myself to be able to take advanced core science classes that I would eventually take in optometry school. The purpose of this program was geared towards helping students become well prepared for the rigors of professional school. The curriculum represents an intense program of study that provides a broad biomedical education at a level consistent with the first year of a medical, dental, and optometry schools. Today I am proud to say I earned my Master of Science degree at Barry University and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I was confident that by excelling in my classes in graduate school, I would be able to strengthen my academic credentials, develop the skills needed to improve my OAT scores, improve my OptomCAS application, and then hopefully become worthy of being accepted into Nova Southeastern University’s College of
