The author is simply assessing the effects that Oral Motor Therapy, as well as articulatory treatments and/or programs have in regards to voice functions, disorders, and dysfunctions. McAllister makes sure to include the comparisons of the rankings of pre and post Motor Oral Therapy. The author includes the statistical results within her writing piece, which will allow me to use this information within my report. This research was conducted by having children, who had been diagnosed with speech disorders and underwent therapy, take an auditory perception test which required the child to use minimal pairs. The data was gathered based on the types of errors and then placed the child under the category they best fit into, also taking their diagnosis into consideration. Four speech pathologists, whose expertise was voice disorders scrutinized the recordings and findings. The insight that they bring to the case is that of the treatments and/or programs results, as well as what takes place during therapy. This study also reveals what tasks should be taken on when helping a child who is undergoing not only the treatments but their diagnosis as well. A detailed explanation of the training needed for each of the diagnosis was also included within the authors writing piece. I will use this article throughout my report to explain the positives and negatives that come after a child undergoes Oral Motor Therapy as treatment for voice disorders. I will mostly be using the results and discussion session, as I feel that the results will best reveal all effects that come with Oral Motor Therapy as a treatment for voice
