ORDERING SYSTEM DOCU
1.1 INTRODUCTION

With the help of high technology, things became different from the old times as they are improved by the intelligence of man. Improvising manual work to automation is an example of technology that the proponents are going to apply in proposed system. In the past, work was only done manually and restaurant ordering was one of them, Even though there were computers that time they were as improved as they are and efficient. Problems are everywhere; man has the advantage to conquer every problem ahead Because of computer and technology.

There is always a corresponding solution in every problem. The proposed system is a LAN based self ordering system. With advancement of the technology, we are trying to solve the problem of the old traditional way of ordering in a restaurant to a convenient way of ordering process through the proposed system.

The proponents are occasionally going to some restaurant, encountering some problems in ordering food. Some of these problems are miscommunication between the proponents and waiter, waiting for a crew to pass by the table to ask for some condiments, and billing problem as other restaurant do not compute the bill properly.

These are the cases that the researchers want to be change through the proposed system as it will be helpful for the both customers and employees.

1.2 BACKGROUND OF THE LOCALE

Cookbook is a semi-fine dining restaurant which serves American-Italian dishes. The conception of Cookbook Kitchen was inspired by an out of town trip to Sagada, Benguet where a small group of relatives came upon a small restaurant offering delicious meals at a cozy, homey and casual setting. They wondered if only a restaurant similar to this was put up in Metro Manila, it would attract a lot of people and would certainly be satisfied. And thus, Cookbook Kitchen came into being and its doors opened to the public in January 2005 in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
