Nurse Manager Melissa Herpel is the Nurse Manager at Express Family Clinic (EFC). She is remarkably achieved her Master 's degree of science in Nursing from University of Texas at Austin in 2005. She also holds Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP-C), which is designed for current registered nurses who carry their Master of Science in Nursing. Individual in the program have the opportunity to learn and understand about their professional field and health care settings. Melissa opened EFC in 2011 and brilliantly working as Nurse Manager for last 5 years. She helped with all aspects of patient care including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. She performs independently with confidently and as part of a treatment team. She educates her patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. She conducts physical, order tests and thus serve as a patient 's primary healthcare provider. Melissa believes in continuous education, and therefore, she is active member in The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and she likes to read and uplift her knowledge from American Journal for NPs, Journal of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Clinician Reviews, and The Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP). She keeps herself in and up to date about the Nursing interventions, and practices through these Journals, and attending knowledge based sessions, events and workshops time to time relevant to her nursing practices.
Nurse Leader Nursing care delivery system used in EFC is team nursing, and leadership style of the nurse manager is formal and informal in nature. The most effective leadership style for a nurse manager is the one that best complements the organizational environment, the tasks to be accomplished, and the personal characteristics of the people involved in each situation (Sullivan, 2012).
