Kpop Invasion
Topic: Korean pop
General purpose: To inform…
Specific purpose: To inform about Kpop.
Central idea: To inform my colleagues about Kpop. Kpop is more than ‘Oppa Gangnam Style’ that many have come to know. From music, it branched out to the other forms of media that becomes a part of pop culture and that of the new generation.
Introduction
Attention-getter: Play ‘Run by Tiger JK ft. Baby-T & the Jungle. I wanted to play this for a different feel from the comedic Psy’s great works.
Credibility Material: Though I’m not Korean and I can tell why Kpop has attracted me and brought me to the larger world. I can tell you my exploration into the different music and culture with new and old friends.
Relevance to the Audience: Though this is a different music from reggae, hip-hop or country many learn to explore the diverse sounds brought by various people of dissimilar backgrounds and traditions, which we all come to share with everyone. We can’t deny it Psy’s song and dance was a worldwide hit that everyone knows.
Preview of Speech: What I will inform and show you about Kpop is the glimpse of its culture from its globalized idols, fandom, and history, to the now popularized aesthetics in Korea.

a. The Hallyu Wave, Korean pop, and/or kpop is a term for popular music of different genres which branched out into movies and television; it also has garnered its own pop culture among the younger generation.
b. The start of the Kpop scene is thought to have begun around 1992 by the Seo Taiji Boys which continued on to what is now present. [refer to the chart]
c. The music genre also varies from some traditional and Western influenced like that of R&B, hip-hop, rap, techno, rock and more.
d. The Wave happened through the millions of fans for idol groups similar to that of the Spice Girls, and N’Sync. Solo singers also bring along their talent and
