When we think we can't push anymore, we can push a little harder. When we think we're done, we're not. Our society has grown up under the impression that we aren't good enough, we're not strong enough, or we're not fast enough. So ever since I've heard that, I have pushed harder than I thought was possible, pushed past the limit. However at the same time it also personally impacts me because in the concentration camps they had to persevere, a lot. And I can relate a lot to perseverance because I have grown up swimming and the hard practices take a lot of perseverance. “Night” by Elie Wiesel teaches us all to persevere through the hard times and push ourselves past the limit. This is why I chose this…

One example in which took a lot of perseverance from my father is when he moved all the way from California to Kansas. My father had to change houses and have a new community to live in. It was hard, but he tried to stay strong with all the new challenges/ struggles coming his way. His everyday life had just completely changed. In addition to the first example, my father had to go to a new school. This was a very hard thing to change schools and took a lot of confidence. My father had witnessed many things at his new school. His everyday life had changed, but with his opened minded and social qualities he knew he could get through it. Eventually, his new school taught him that change isn't always so bad. Another thing to remember and example of perseverance is that my father had trouble making new friends. To make more friends, my father had joined a basketball team where he could get out and be active. Also, he tried being as talkative as possible. This happened in 3rd grade, my father was obviously young, so he thought he couldn't make any new friends. Furthermore, you can see that my father went through a tough time and had to make many changes in order to persevere in his…

Throughout every person’s life, there always stands an obstacle to overcome. While some choose to retreat from the challenge, others choose to surmount whatever it is holding them back. I have always believed that if someone wants something bad enough, they will work however hard they have to in order to achieve their goal. I can honestly admit that through years of determination, research, and self-motivation I have been able to prevail over my adversity: stuttering. Many people try to mask this speech impediment with flowery terminology such as “blocking”, “bumpy speech”, or “mild disfluency.” To a stutterer, no matter how specialists or professionals refer to this disability, it is far from trouble-free. Each and every day I deal with stuttering with the conviction and determination to speak well.…

I believe that the American Dream is something that people can still achieve. Although it isn’t something that you can grab however, and perchase. Indeed you have to earn it. You may fail before accomplishing the American Dream. Just because you fail doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish your dream you can always try something different and still be successful. However, don’t let anyone or anybody destroy your dream or ever tell you that your not going to amount to anything because that’s not true. I can refer to this beacause Bill Gates and President Barack Obama is an prime example of the American Dream. Barack Obama didn’t have that problem he believe his teachers and family told him that he would be successful. On the other hand Bill Gates did kids at school criticized and laughed at him calling him dreadful names. But that did not stop Gates from accomplishing his dream. He kept pursuing his dream and at the end of the day when it was all said and done Bill Gates became successful.…
