life isn’t straight because of a mindset or obstacle. In “College Should Be An Adventure” the obstacle is finding out what you want out of college. Dr. Roush the speaker explains how some people go to college for the social aspect of life, while others actually go for the degree.
In the Peanuts cartoon comic strip, Charlie is overcoming the Lucy trying to get in his head. In this strip Lucy is trying to trick Charlie. He has already experienced this same scenario since he has learned from the other times and tried not to let Lucy get in his head when going to kick the ball. Charlie, however, did not conquer his barrier of mentally overcoming Lucy’s meanness towards him. In the picture titled “Construint”, the boy is overcoming the fear of growing up. The wooden blocks represent him growing while the colored blocks on his head represent him shaping his personality and growing as an individual. The human condition of growing and overcoming can be connected to life almost straight as you have to learn from your mistakes in order to almost stay on that path. Without growth as the human condition, the path would be more curved rather than “almost” straight.
