Motivation is one of the most essential part to a business or an organisation, the reason to this is because without motivation your employees would not have the desire and will to do something or to push their self a little harder to get something finished. For example if someone doesn’t get out of bed to get to college, work or a meeting this shows that they are not willing to either learn, work or meet someone therefore this isn’t a motivated person. Every individual will have a way they get motivated, not everyone has the same motivation strategy therefore each employee will have their own way to be motivated, and some of the things which will motivate someone are money and deadlines.
In a business management team, a motivation staff is an important part to a management team, I will be writing about four theorists who have already researched on how to motivate employees and have helped businesses and organisations to motivate their employees with these theories. The four theorists I have chosen are Frederick Taylor, Elton Mayo, Abraham Maslow and also Frederick Herzberg.
Frederick Taylor - 1856-1917
Frederick Taylor who studied motivation in the late 80s for a steel company in America, Mr Taylor was motivated by money and how he can make the most possible profits in the business. Frederick Taylor theory was that employees will need close supervision the reason to this is because the workers do not naturally enjoy working therefore he came up with a theory that managers should split the departments up and set them tasks which the productions would be broken down and the employees would produce more because of the motivation factor of the money. Taylor came out with another theory for his workers that they should be paid depending on how many products the workers produce therefore he set a time, piece rate pay to motivate his
