In the Panyee Football Club movie, the boys learn that they all have to work together and all pitch in to achieve a common goal by, all helping to build the pitch with not much supplies, they practiced after school when they could have been doing something else, and most of all, the caught up in a game they were losing.

The first reason the boys show that they all work together to achieve a common goal was, when they all helped gather supplies and make the pitch. I think this shows that they all had to work together to achieve their common goal because, after they built the pitch, they all started practicing. They practiced a lot to get better. In the movie, it says they even practiced after school. I think this is important because they could have been doing something else after school, but they chose to practice. As a result of their practice, they got a flyer from the mainland for a tournament. They chose to go play and went to the tournament. It turned out they were better than they thought! They won the game! I think that from practicing a lot and practicing after school paid off. From doing so good in the game, the boys made it to the semi final. I think the most important part about this is they all practiced a lot. As a result of this, they got a chance to play on the mainland and then made it to the semi final. That is why I think practicing a lot helped a lot with working together and achieving a common

To start off, lack of funds in the beginning had a huge impact on the team. Without the proper funds the team could not get the equipment they needed to start. No money means no uniforms, no cones , but most importantly no soccer balls. Their coach, Coach Luma attempted to take matters into her own hands. (She owned a café called Ashton’s but closed it down by choice. She said “You’re worrying if you’re going to have enough people coming in to buy three-dollar lattes when just down the road there are people who can’t afford to eat” (St. John 61.)) By reaching out to the town where their boys are from. Clarkston was the name of the town, a small town made up of refugees from all over: Burundi, Congo, Sudan , Liberia , Bosnia , Afghanistan , and Iraq. She asks the town people if they could help her raise the money needed for the teams necessities. But the town was uncertain at first. Because when moved to the town most of everyone had nothing more but the clothes on there back.…

To start off, during the film, “Brooklyn Castle”, all the members of the team had to do their part on their team to win. As an example in the film Pobo said to Patrick, “You are a part of this team, so you have to do your best.” Which shows how hard the team works, and how the teammates want everyone to win. Another example that shows how all the members of the team had to do their part on their team to win is when Pobo lost one of the tournaments, and everyone was there to support him. Even though they knew that they had a lower chance of winning as a…

Not only was practice crucial to the team’s triumph, but so was their team building. There was fun and games, which contributed to the camaraderie of the team. Everyone wants to win. But should that be a child’s top priority? Children’s sports should be more focused on cooperation and pure fun. The physical and psychological negatives are not worth the feeling of winning a game or making a team. Competitive sports have too many negatives that outweigh the positives and should be either removed or restructured. After children are fully prepared and mentally and psychologically developed, by age twelve or so, children can move on to playing to win.…

The perceptions of competence are held to be more fragile because competence is construed on the basis of what others have done or are doing and there is greater preoccupation with the adequacy of one’s ability (Duda and Hall, 2001, p 420). Youths who feel excessive pressure to win can perceive themselves as having poor abilities, feel unattached to their teams, and feel vulnerable in the presence of teammates (Cote, Deakin, and Fraser-Thomas, 2005). With respect to team unity, the heightened inter-individual comparison and rivalry among athletes undermine the sense that one is closely connected with others. The climate of the team should foster feelings of “belongingness” and promote the satisfaction of the need for relatedness (Duda, Reinboth, 2005, p…

Soccer is not as popular in the United States as the other sports, but is still popular to parents and kids because it is not as rough as some of the other sports. The American Youth Soccer Organization started in Las Angeles, California in the mid 1920’s by Hans Stierle. The first league had nine teams and new leagues were opened to youth that wanted play, this way kids that had never kicked a ball before could be taught how to play and be put in a lineup. The organization now has 50,000 teams across the United States and 650,000 players in 2010(Silverman, 2011).…

Children tend to go out for sports to make friends, improve relationships, become better at the sport, and to stay in shape. No matter what the reason is when you join the sport, you will find out that you gained numerous friends over the course of the season. As every sports season comes around the corner, you can visualize how close people on the same teams grow. At our high school, people eat with their teams, lift with their teams, practice with their teams, and play with their teams. The environment is set up to create friendships. Being a senior in high school, I have had the opportunity to participate in multiple team sports. Throughout my high school experience, I have noticed is that the teams who grow the closest, have the greatest success. One piece of evidence is our soccer team. When I came into high school, we had the opportunity to meet new coaches. Coach Garza and Coach Javi, the soccer coaches, are no doubt, the best coaches I have ever had the chance to be taught by. They both possess the rare trait of being able to bond kids together. The soccer team I am on has the strongest bond I have ever seen. Since I joined the team as a freshman, we have made two consecutive state trips, which were the first and second in school history. We also achieved the runner-up status in the championship game. If there were one trait I could relate our success to, it would be the bond we share as a…
