Parenthood Argumentative Essay
Name
Diego Alonso Valdivieso
Debate Topic
“The parents has to pass a course and take an exam in order to have a child” Summary argumentation Pro They are basically saying that the education of the child is the most important thing, because they are the future, so the parents have to know how manage that education, with courses, exams… They put as an example the adoption parents, people that wait for a year until they have their child, also they came up with a statistic about that the 80% of the child that receive abuse, are because of their parents. Validity of argumentation Pro They always mention a lot of arguments, saying from where they take it out, so we can say that the validity in terms of veracity are good. In spite of this my opinion is that some of the arguments that they say as “the 80% of the child that receive abuse are from their biological parents”, I think that is not something that can proof that the test make the adoption parents more capable and less aggressive with their children. Evaluation quality of sources Pro Almost all the sources that they use, are from statistics centers in the USA, or sentences that someone says, so the quality is good. Summary argumentation Contra The primary argument that the contra side said was that “no one can prove that the test is works” that means you can say with a 100% of security that a person that pass the test, can be a good parent. The other argument was that you can’t control the number of births that someone is going to have, and neither can you say that someone can have a children or not. Validity of argumentation Contra I strongly feel that all the argumentation of the contra side, are really logic (even they didn’t support their argumentation usually with official sources) so the validity of them was always high.

Evaluation quality of sources Contra
They say that the 50% of the births are from people that doesn’t intend it as the unique argument that you can check with some sources.

    | In the north, church membership was key to be accepted into the colony. The church controlled the laws and was the most acknowledge in the colony. However, in the south, instead of the church member being the boss, land owners were the dominant party. These land owners were the wealthiest and had control over the laws. Conflicts are often started by the utilization of labels. By labeling a certain person or calling them a name it is essentially grouping them into a larger idea or force. In the film Empire of the Sun directed by Steven Spielberg and the novel When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka the main characters struggle with identifying which side of World War II they are supposed to be aligned with. The protagonists from both of the works experience a moment where the line between good and bad is extremely thin. Both Jamie and the family are forced to question their allegiances in World War II.…

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization founded by Margaret Sanger in 1916. Planned Parenthood began as the first birth control clinic in America (“Planned Parenthood | Official Site”). It began in Brooklyn, New York, and it was opened with Sanger, her sister, and a friend (“Planned Parenthood | Official Site”). Sanger’s original missions for Planned Parenthood were, providing contraception and other health services to women and men, funding research on birth control and educating specialists and the public about the results, and advancing access to family planning in the United States and around the world (“Planned Parenthood | Official Site”). Planned Parenthood has always seen people opposing it, from the very beginning when police raided the clinic, and Sanger, her sister and her friend were arrested, to now with Republicans and “pro-life” activists trying to defund and bring an end to the organization (“Planned Parenthood | Official Site”). Planned Parenthood is not the monster that republicans and “pro-life” activists make it out to be, contrary to what they may think…

Planned Parenthood has been in the news lately regarding controversial abortions, procedures of the tissues that result from abortions. Conservatives of the House of Representatives are trying again to stop federal assistances to Planned Parenthood. Oppositional views from both sides could lead to shutting down the government; because democrats would veemingly oppose any bill defunding the organization. This could result in Republicans loosing support in the 2016 elections, but many conservatives say that it’s a risk and fight worth taking on. However, there is a lot of criticism on why GOP decides now that they should try again to defund Planned Parenthood. They argue that the leaked videos this past summer and evaluation of negotiation and completing the new budget puts the conservatives in a spot to argue the money that is set aside for planned parenthood be given to another organization more deserving of the it.…

The human body is amazing. It can protect one from sickness, harm. It can create beautiful art or fantastical inventions. It can surpass impossible limits. The human body is amazing. It’s amazing and it can create life. But, we, as humans, can take away that life. Humans can inhibit a person from moving forward. Humans can stop a person from feeling happiness or wholeness. And all because we, as humans, make abortion illegal. When abortion is illegal, it restricts a girl or woman from living the life she deserves. When abortion is illegal, it shows that a group of fellow humans love a forming bundle of cells more than the person standing before them.…

I am writing to you about my concerns pertaining a bill, “Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2017”. Although there have been unsuccessful attempts to defund Planned Parenthood in the past, with the current state of the political climate, I now feel that it is important to voice my concerns if the bill should pass. I find that the problems this bill proposes goes beyond the pro-life, pro-choice debate and can be problematic to spending, equality and many other issues.…

In the recent U.S. election, one of the biggest points of comparison was with which side somebody was on the issue of defunding Planned Parenthood. One side of the argument promised to its supporters that Planned Parenthood would be defunded and that it would save them money in taxes and that those taxes would no longer be going toward abortions. The other side emphasized that reproductive health care was essential and that it should be a basic human right, and that in defunding Planned Parenthood, it would deny that basic human right to many. Even though many people do not want their tax dollars going toward abortions, Planned Parenthood should not be defunded, because they are the number one sex education provider and they provide basic healthcare to those at or below the poverty line.…

How would it be like if you weren’t allowed to choose what happens to your future? Some women do not get the luxury of choosing for themselves due to some laws set and they do not get the option whatsoever. That should be different as women are the ones who carry the babies, not the ones who are voting against it. Even though the baby never had the chance to live life, women should have the right to choose what they want to do with their baby because it may be bad for the women herself to have to care of a baby, they may not be prepared for a baby, and we do not know their circumstances of the situation.…

One of the worst things a parent of a teenage girl could hear is “I’m pregnant.” Birth control is one of the best things that is made. One of the biggest problems in society today is the arguments over reproductive rights. It is an issue that has been taken and used by members of the neo-conservative right in order to hijack the vote of citizens of faith. The difficulty of this issue is it is an easy knee-jerk reaction issue. No thought is needed, all a person hears is ‘killing babies’ and they suddenly become Republican. Little consideration is given to the mother, society, or the Bible these leaders supposedly take their inspiration from. I’d like to take a moment to show why it’s not a clear cut issue in the most basic argument used, the religious one.…
