of the two. Though fulfilling our obligations remains necessary to the structure of our lives, if we do everything out of pure obligation our lives will soon become dry and meaningless. I'm sure you have seen many big city romance films where the protagonist lives his or her life at work. They spend day after day, week after week, never doing anything but work. Their life is terrible, but they don't know any better until they meet the the person of their dreams. They then discover life is more than simply work and obligations. Forced to balance their obligations with their newfound passion for an individual, their life is soon complete. So, where is the balance?
Some may go their whole life without finding it. Passion and obligation do not have a set ratio to follow that will make your life perfect. Everyone is different. You need to find the balance for yourself where you can fulfill all of the obligations given you, but not get so overwhelmed that you lose the passion behind it. Passion and obligation are both necessities of life. We just need to learn how to control them. In conclusion, we do not need to choose between obligation and passion, as some people may suggest. Instead, follow the example of many historians who found the balance between the two; and, therefore, lived very successful
lives.
